Abstract

Background: When students enter their final semester, demands and assignments increase, one of which is compiling a scientific paper, namely a thesis. As a result of these demands, many students end up trapped in unexpected psychological conditions, such as anxiety. Anxiety related to compiling a thesis is one form of academic anxiety experienced by students. If this anxiety in students is not immediately addressed, it can hinder students in compiling and completing their thesis
Method: The design of this study was cross-sectional. Using a random sample approach, 112 final year nursing students from the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Muhammadiyah Malang who were working on their thesis participated in this study.
Result: The results of the study using the Pearson correlation test, the relationship between self-efficacy and academic anxiety has a significance value of 0.007 (p <0.05) and a Pearson Correlation value of -0.255. In addition, the relationship between family social support and academic anxiety with the Pearson correlation test produces a significance value of 0.030 (p <0.05) and a Pearson Correlation value of -0.206.
Conclusion: It can be concluded that there is a negative relationship between self-efficacy and academic anxiety in students when writing a thesis. And there is a negative relationship between family social support and academic anxiety in students when writing a thesis
