KRISIS IDENTITASTOKOH UTAMA DALAM NOVEL TITIK BALIK KARYA RANI RACHMANI MOEDIARTA

ABSTRACT

Identity is the most important thing in life, with individual identity having an orientation and purpose in directing life, also having an internal belief and conviction in considering a matter. Therefore, every individual must have an identity so that life is more directed and meaningful. However, in the formation of identity, there will first be an identity crisis before finally forming a more stable identity. By examining this research, it certainly can help to resolve the identity crisis by using a literary creation. The novel Titik Balik by Rani Rachmani Moediarta is one of the novels that reviews the identity crisis experienced by the main character and how the main character's efforts in resolve his identity crisis. Based on this, the formulation of this study includes (1) how looked the identity crisis of the main character in the novel Titik Balik by Rani Rachmani Moediarta, (2) how effort to resolve the crisis of main character identity’s in the Titik Balik novel by Rani Rachmani Moediarta.
The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method through the psychology of literature approach. Sources of data in the form of words or sentence excerpts related to identity crises and efforts to resolve them. Several steps taken in this study, (1) collecting data, (2) simplifying data, (3) presenting data, (4) drawing conclusions.
Based on the results of the analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that the form of the main character's identity crisis includes (1) feelings of emptiness and blankness is excessive anxiety, continuous boredom, (2) inferiority feeling that is always feeling isolated, and (3) does not have an attitude that is confused in making a decision, afraid to be yourself. The efforts to resolve the identity crisis include (1) looking for social support by opening up and receiving every suggestion, and learning to meditate, (2) changing mindsets by broadening perspectives, and finally (3) tracing the past by way of reminiscing about childhood memories
