Abstract
Background: Health problems in children with special needs, such as children with Down syndrome, often involve standing balance problems. Body balance is a necessary component in the successful completion of functional activities, including the ability to carry out various forms of activity every day. If this is allowed to continue, it will certainly cause further development problems. In this case the author wants determine the effect of adding hopscotch exercises to core stability exercises on static balance in children with Down syndrome at the Mitra Insan Mandiri Ponorogo clinic.
Research Objectives: To determine the effect of combination hopscotch exercises and core stability exercises on static balance in cases of Down syndrome at the Mitra Insan Mandiri Ponorogo clinic.
Research Methods: This research was conducted with a Pre-Experimental One-Group Pretest-Posttest research design. The sample in this study was 10 children with Down syndrome who experienced standing balance problems and the research period was 9 weeks. The measurement instrument used is the sixteen balance test.
Result: There is an effect of combination hopscotch training and core stability training on static balance.
Conclusion: The Wilcoxon test result obtained after the intervention was given was p = 0.004, so it can be concluded that there is an effect of adding hopscotch exercises to core stability exercises on static balance in Down syndrome cases at the Mitra Insan Mandiri Ponorogo clinic.
