Abstract
Poverty is a condition where there were inability to fulfill basic needs like food, clothes, house, education, and health. Poverty could be caused by the rare of basic needs tools demand, or the difficult access to education and occupation. Poverty is a global problem. Poverty could be grouped into two categories. They were absolute poverty and relative poverty. Absolute poverty related with one consistent standard, didn’t influence by time and place / country. One example from absolute measurement is percentage of population who took food under of enough amount for human body needs (about 2000-2500 calories per day for mature male). Strategy of eradicating poverty in regional area needs united approach, the application was done in steps, planned and continuous, demand involvement of all parties whether government, business world, independence institution, people organization, or the poor themselves to give an optimum benefit to overcome social, economic, and culture condition, also wealth progress of the poor. According to what discussed in above backgrounds, the statement of problems in this research were: (1) how village government strategy in eradicating poverty at Dasan Lekong village, Sukamulia sub-district Lombok Timur Residence? (2) how far the effectiveness of village institutions in arranging strategy to eradicate poverty in Dasan Lengkong village Sukamulia sub-district Lombok Timur Residence? (3) How far the successful strategy in eradicating poverty of Dasan Lekong village Sukamulia sub-district Lombok Timur Residence. The research aimed to describe about phenomena or problems existed in field without considering relation between variables. Related with the research title, included social phenomena with descriptive character, so the research was descriptive qualitative. In this research, data sources used were primary and secondary data. Data collection technique is the way to collect data in good way, processing and analyzed as the research method. To analyze the data found from primary and secondary data, the method used was qualitative. According to the research done, there found result as: (1) strategy done by Dasan Lekong village government to eradicate poverty were meeting to arrange village rule about APDES with agenda to use village fund allocation, distributing village support fund (BLT), socialization about health assurance; (2) in optimizing the purpose stated by organizing institution and village also doing report about chief of village responsibility report each budget year; (3) to apply government strategy in PNPM; (4) strategy done showed result where the data of poor people decreased from previous amount in 2008 for 268.582.580 in 2009 had decreased into 235.356.250 Keywords: Strategy, eradication, poverty
