HUBUNGAN PENGGUNAAN JAMINAN KESEHATAN DENGAN WAITING TIME PASIEN DI IGD RS WAVA HUSADA MALANG

Background : Overcrowded is a problem that often occurs in the Emergency Department, causing waiting times. While time is considered an important tool to measure the quality of emergency services, waiting times can result in overload and disrupt patient care. The different waiting times are caused by several factors, one of which is related to patient status which is divided into general patients and national health insurance patients. The aim of this research is to identify the relationship between the use of health insurance and waiting time in the emergency room at Wava Husada Hospital Malang.
Method : This research study uses non-experimental methods with type quantitative data. Researchers use purposive sampling techniques because it is easier to generalize the sample. The sample in this study was medical record data for the last 1 week with a total of 290 samples containing data on waiting time and health facilities in the emergency room.
Result : Based on the research results, it was found that the average number of patients who came to the emergency room using BPJS type health insurance was 197 patients (69%). The waiting time for
patients in the emergency room at Wava Husada Hospital can be handled quickly ≤ 6 hours for 158 patients (54.5%). The results of the Spearman correlation test show that there is no relationship between the use of health insurance and patient waiting time in the emergency room at Wava Husada
Hospital. This is proven by the correlation coefficient (r) value obtained at 0.089, which shows that
the level of relationship between the health insurance variable and waiting time is very weak. Conclusion : The use of different health insurance is not the main factor in the length of waiting time for patients in the emergency room at Wava Husada Hospital, Malang.
