GAMBARAN PENGETAHUAN IBU DALAM PEMBERIAN ASI EKSKLUSIF

Background: Giving breast milk to babies is closely related to conditions of undernutrition and overnutrition (obesity) in children. Mothers’ knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding greatly influences the practice of exclusive breastfeeding.
Objective: This research aims to determine the description of mothers’ knowledge in providing exclusive breastfeeding.
Method: The type of research used is quantitative research with a descriptive research design. This research was carried out at the Bidanku Afita Clinic. The population and sample in this study were breastfeeding mothers who had children over 6 months old, namely 82 people.
Results: The research showed that the maximum results were obtained of mothers' knowledge of exclusive breastfeeding, with 62 people (70%) having moderate knowledge and based on the age of the respondents, the average was 26-35 years, 44 people (54%).
Conclusion: That mothers who have babies over 6 months old have a moderate level of knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding.
