Lack of self-care management can affect the quality of life of diabetes mellitus sufferers, an ineffective lifestyle and unhealthy eating patterns can affect the quality of life of diabetes mellitus sufferers. If Diabetes Mellitus sufferers do not carry out effective self-care management, it can worsen the sufferer's condition resulting in unstable blood sugar, decreased quality of life, and even a high risk of complications. The parts that include self-care management are regulating eating patterns (diet), physical activity, regular exercise, controlling blood sugar, compliance with taking medication, and self/foot care. Data collection was carried out at the Janti Community Health Center with a total population of 876 people. The test used in this research is the Spearman correlation test. Data collection was carried out using the Accidental Sampling technique, the instruments used were the Diabetes Self Management Questionnaire (DSMQ) and the DQOL Brief Clinical Inventory questionnaire.
The research results showed that the majority of diabetes mellitus sufferers had low self-care management, namely 78 respondents (86.7%).
