Abstract
Background: A disorder that occurs in adolescent girls during menstruation is dysmenorrhea. Women's experiences when experiencing menstruation vary, some feel pain and no pain. Women who experience dysmenorrhea can have their activities
disrupted, often accompanied by unstable psychological disorders such as irritability and quick anger. Primary dysmenorrhea occurs due to excessive prostaglandin production, causing uterine hypercontraction during menstruation. Poor diet is also one of the causes of menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea). Objective: This research is looking for the relationship between nutritional status and menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea) in female students at SMP Negeri X. Method: This type of research is quantitative with a cross-sectional approach to study the correlation between risk factors using approach and observation. Conclusion: The results of the ci-square independence test show that there is a significant association between nutritional status and menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea) among female students at SMP Negeri X in
Malang Regency, X2(1) = 38,539, p =0,000, φc = 0,681.
