Abstract

Background: The majority of people, including students at Muhammadiyah University of Malang's Faculty of Medicine, use computers to finish their everyday tasks. A group of ocular and extraocular symptoms connected to prolonged, continuous computer use are called Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS). Headaches, neck pain, irritated eyes, double vision, red eyes, and dry eyes are some of the symptoms. CVS complications in medical students can lead to long-term visual difficulties, decreased motivation to study, and obligations as medical professionals.
Objective: To determine the impact of knowledge level on the symptoms of CVS among Muhammadiyah University of Malang's class of 2022 medical students
Method: This research is an observational study with a cross-sectional approach, data collection using questionnaires and descriptive and analytical analysis IBM SPSS version 23.
Results: The chi-square statistical test was obtained on the level of knowledge that influences CVS symptoms in students at the Faculty of Medicine, Muhammadiyah University of Malang class of 2022 with a value of p = 0.015 (p<0.05).
Conclusion: The degree of knowledge affects the symptoms of CVS in Muhammadiyah University of Malang class of 2022 students enrolled in the faculty of medicine.
