TANTANGAN DAN STRATEGI PENERAPAN JUST IN TIME (JIT) PADA UMKM (STUDI KASUS RAMAYANA AGRO MANDIRI)

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a strategic role in the Indonesian economy, especially in improving the welfare of the community and creating jobs. One of the main challenges faced by MSMEs is the effective and efficient management of raw material inventory, especially for MSMEs engaged in the snack food industry such as Ramayana Agro Mandiri in Batu City. Apples as the main raw material have perishable properties, so an optimal inventory management system is needed to avoid waste and reduce production costs. This study aims to examine the challenges and strategies for implementing the Just In Time (JIT) method in managing raw material inventory at Ramayana Agro Mandiri MSMEs. The JIT method aims to minimize inventory, reduce storage costs, and increase production efficiency. The results showed that Ramayana Agro Mandiri still uses simple inventory recording with a periodic system. The main challenge in implementing JIT in this MSME is the uncertainty of raw material supply from suppliers as well as the risk of raw material damage during storage. To overcome this challenge, MSMEs implement strategies such as selecting quality suppliers, scheduling timely orders for raw materials, and collaborating with several suppliers to ensure the continuous availability of raw materials. By implementing these strategies, Ramayana Agro Mandiri MSMEs can increase production
efficiency, reduce waste, and minimize storage costs. The application of the JIT method in managing raw material inventory in MSMEs is expected to be a solution in facing increasingly fierce business competition and supporting the growth of MSMEs in Indonesia.
