The era of media convergence has made conventional media flock to develop their media into new media. This development is driven by the development of the internet and its massive users. According to data from the Indonesian Internet Providers Association (APJII), data on internet users in Indonesia in 2023 reached 215.63 million people. The number of users is equivalent to 78.19% of the total Indonesian population of 275.77 million people. This massive number makes media such as news portals one of the fields of information and reference in various matters. As one of the news portals, Mascoolin.id is a media that wants to present information about masculinity and issues related to men in the digital era. With dominant, strong, and tough characteristics, the topic of masculinity is rarely discussed specifically. Therefore, Mascoolin.id is present as an information platform for men and masculinity.

This report examines the role of the editor-in-chief in the management of Mascoolin.id news portal including pre-production, production, and post-production stages. Each stage is carried out by prioritising the principles of online journalism and news portal management. In the process, the management principles of Planning, Organising, Actuating, and Controlling (POAC) are applied. The results of the report show that the role of an active editor-in-chief who is able to create an effective work system can improve the quality of the news content produced on the news portal. With a data-driven approach, Mascoolin.id is expected to be a relevant discussion platform for the community in discussing masculinity in the modern era.
