Abstract

Background: There are 8.11 million people with anxiety in Indonesia. Specifically, the highest levels of anxiety are found in the adolescent and young adult age groups. Anxiety negatively impacts academic performance. While it is said that low levels of anxiety can motivate students to prepare for exams, extreme anxiety levels, on the other hand, alter physiological and psychological states, disrupting concentration and memory, which hinders academic achievement. Research shows that medical students are more vulnerable to depression and anxiety due to their demanding and complex study schedules.
Objective: To determine the relationship between anxiety levels and OSCE results on medical students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang.
Method: This study is an analytical observational study using a cross-sectional approach, with a total of 32 samples selected through simple random sampling using a questionnaire that meets the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data were analyzed univariately and bivariately using the chi-square statistical test with SPSS version 26 software.
Result: The statistical test results showed no significant relationship between anxiety levels and OSCE results with a p-value of 0.317.
Conclusion: The conclusion of this study is that there is no significant relationship between anxiety levels and OSCE results on medical students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang.
