ANALISIS ISI KECENDERUNGAN DENGAN TEMA KONFLIK PEJUANG TANAH MELAYU DALAM FILM MAT KILAU (Analisis Isi Film Genre Aksi Mat Kilau karya Syamsul Yusof 2022)

Conflict is a form of contact between two or more parties, the cause is because there are differences in socio-cultural conditions, static values ​​and power, where each party feels they have power over a natural resource. Since ancient times, differences or struggles over territory have often created prolonged conflicts. As a result, quite a few victims fell.
This research aims to analyze the tendencies of themes, values ​​and messages contained in the film Mat Kilau: Awakening of Heroes. Using content analysis methods, this film tells the story of Mat Kilau's struggle against British colonialism at the end of the 19th century, which is full of nationalist values, cultural identity and the spirit of resistance. Through in-depth analysis of dialogue, storyline, and characters, as well as cinematographic elements. This research identified that these films tend to emphasize narratives of patriotism and unity. The findings of this research show that Mat Kilau does not only function as an entertainment medium, but as a medium for education and social reflex to strengthen national identity.
