Abstract
As time goes by, human needs continue to increase in line with the times. Traffic problems in urban areas generally only occur on main roads, namely arterial roads and collector roads. Currently, in Gresik Regency, there are traffic problems which include congestion and queues of vehicles on several roads and intersections. One of the points affected was the intersection of Jalan Raya Bringkang. Long queues of vehicles and long delay times are caused by many drivers not obeying traffic rules, not being orderly in turning turns, and driving against the direction. North approach Jl. Raya Bringkang Utara and the southern approach of Jl. Raya Bringkang Selatan has a road width of 7 meters, west approach Jl. Raya Bringkang Barat is 4.5 meters and the eastern approach is Jl. Raya Bringkang Timur is 7 meters. There are no road medians on the four roads. The peak hour traffic flow volume is at 07.00-08.00 WIB, on the northern approach it is 3714 vehicles/hour, on the southern approach 3629 vehicles/hour, on the west approach 1055 vehicles/hour, and on the east approach 3135 vehicles/hour. Data processing was carried out based on the 1997 Indonesian Road Capacity Manual. It is known that the level of service at the intersection is E. Where the highest degree of saturation at the South Approach is 0.88. After carrying out calculations, the highest degree of saturation (DS) value was 0.68 with an average total delay of 11.08 sec/pcu, this value is below the 1997 MKJI requirements (DS<0.85). So the alternative chosen is addition of road median.
