Abstract

In increasing education quality, there should be maintenance in learning process. Some of them left teaching with old tradition. Some of them leaving method with old tradition, where the teacher taught in front of passive student. If it was done, there would be lack of benefit in completing learning quality. Good learning process is when the students success in learning, active learning with problem solving application was learning which able to make the student learn. Learning which wasn’t able to make the student learn couldn’t increase the human resource which adapted the time changing. The research is aimed to (1) finding out students’ activity along learning process using active learning with problem solving existed; (2) finding out students learning result after using active learning by problem solving application, (3) finding out students respond to the active learning with problem solving application. The research was descriptive, using qualitative approach. In this research, the subject were students of grade X Fashion Management Program SMK Negeri 1 High School of Batu consisted of 37 students. Analysis technique used in this research was study activity data and study result of students. According to analysis result, students activity level found 80.00% for first meeting and 80.27% for the second meeting. While from students completeness in individual or classical, active learning implementation with problem solving application fit to use on broad and pheripery of flat form. The maintenance were: (1) there suggest for teacher to pay attention to the time when allocating learning, since when there was no limitation in discussion, the students would do other things outside the learning process. (2) in group making, the group should be heterogen, so that the students would not get difficulty in helping each other, and (3) motivating students to practice and asking, discussing, communicating their thought, and digging deeper information about material learned in individual in fun atmosphere.
