Abstract

Background: Nursing students who have completed their education will face the Indonesian Nursing Competency Test (UKNI) to assess their readiness and eligibility. The threat of failing the exam and subsequently not entering the workforce triggers anxiety among the students. As the exam approaches, anxiety causes feelings of restlessness and unease, making it difficult to concentrate and disrupting sleep. This study aims to describe the levels of anxiety, sleep latency, and sleep duration among nursing students before facing the competency exam.
Research Methodology: The design used in this research is observational with a cross-sectional study type. The variables studied include anxiety levels, sleep latency, and sleep duration. The sample was obtained using accidental sampling with a total population of 90 respondents.
Results: Based on the research results, it was found that 7 students (15.2%) experienced severe anxiety, 30 students (65.2%) had a sleep latency of more than 30 minutes, and 9 students (19.6%) had a sleep duration of less than 5 hours.
Conclusion: Based on the research results, it can be concluded that before facing the competency exam, the 26 nursing students experienced anxiety, had issues with sleep latency, and sleep duration.
