Abstract

The type of research used in this study is a library/literature study with a qualitative approach. The data collection technique used in the study of this study of literature is a collection of library data that has been selected and determined and will then be analyzed. Through proper planning and good guidance, the PBL approach is able to create interesting, collaborative, and applicative learning experiences for students, preparing them better to face future challenges. The researchers concluded that there is a difference between improved critical thinking skills of students before and after the application of the problem based learning (PBL) model to Islamic education lessons, i.e. there was a significant improvement in the ability to think critically of students. Then students are able to develop better analytical, synthesis, problem solving, conclusion, and information evaluation skills. Students can apply their critical thoughts in the context of Islamic educational lessons better.
