Abstract

This study aims to analyze the accountability of family-based boarding schools with reference to Good Corporate Governance (GCG) for business sustainability. Islamic boarding schools operate as non-profit educational institutions that focus on educational and religious services. Accountability is a major aspect of GCG, which emphasizes organizational responsibility for decisions and actions taken. Through a qualitative method at Pondok Pesantren Nurul Ulum Malang City, this study explores the implementation of GCG to improve transparency, accountability, and stakeholder engagement. The results show that the implementation of GCG contributes to better financial management and creating a sustainable environment. The study also highlights the limitations and provides suggestions to improve the implementation of GCG accountability in family-based Islamic boarding schools.
