Abstract
Background: The high demand from society for nursing services can unconsciously create a workload for nurses. Labor conditions (physical and psychological) are not always ideal in society's opinion. The workload felt by nurses arises from factors that influence it, one of which is the imbalance between nursing staff and the number of patients. A high workload can affect nurses' performance. This study aims to analyze the workload of nurses at the Ali RSI Aisyiyah Malang inpatient installation
Method: This research was conducted on 20 nurses who worked at the Ali RSI Aisyiyah Malang inpatient installation using total sampling technique. The research instrument used a workload questionnaire. The collected data was analyzed using descriptive-quantitative analysis techniques
Results: The results of the research show that the majority of respondents have a heavy workload, namely 12 people (60%) with a number of activities that burden their work, namely: lack of nursing staff, many types of work to save patients, and dealing with patients with different characteristics all the time.
Conclusion: The lack of nursing staff, the many types of work to save patients, and dealing with patients with different characteristics all the time forget about the things that burden nurses' work the most.
