Abstract

SD Muhammadiyah 8 KH. Mas Mansur Malang City already uses education with the Merdeka Curriculum. Grade IV teachers apply a problem-based learning (PBL) model in 4C skills. In grade IV, 4C skills can be developed because they have started developing themselves in groups. The application of PBL in 4C Skills is implemented in mathematics learning because the mathematics learning process requires serious handling and attention. In the learning process when IV students are asked to have group discussions, the discussion takes a long time so that the teacher has time constraints. This leads to the 4C skills of students who are still low. This study aims to: (1) Analyse the application of the PBL model in 4C skills in class IV mathematics learning, (2) Analyse the supporting factors and inhibiting factors.
This research uses qualitative research and descriptive qualitative research. Data collection used interviews, observation, and documentation. As the data source, the fourth grade teacher of SD Muhammadiyah 8 KH. Mas Mansur Malang City was chosen. This research was performed on 6-7 May 2024.
The implementation of learning begins with making preparations, namely compiling learning tools which include: mathematics teaching modules, teaching materials, learning media, LKPD, evaluation questions, and assessment attachments. The application of the PBL model is able to bring up 3 of the 4 skills of 4C students, namely 1) Step 1, learners bring up critical thinking and problem solving skills, and communication skills; 2) Step 2, learners bring up collaboration skills; 3) Step 3, learners display critical thinking and problem solving skills, communication skills, and collaboration skills; 4) Step 4, learners display critical thinking and problem solving skills and communication skills; 5) Step 5, learners display critical thinking and problem solving skills and communication skills. The supporting factors: Maths contains many problems to be solved and learning media. The inhibiting factors: students have not brought up creative skills and difficulty organising learning time. The suggestions for this study are addressed to teachers to apply the PBL model in 4C skills, schools to maintain supporting factors for learning, and further researchers to develop the aspects studied.
