Isu Kekerasan Seksual di Media Online (Analisis Framing Berita Santriwati Pesantren Shiddiqiyyah Jombang di Detik.com dan JawaPos.com Edisi Juli 2022)

Cases of sexual violence against female students were committed by Moch Subchi Azal Tsani (MSAT), a teacher at the Shiddiqiyyah Jombang Islamic boarding school, who is also the son of a cleric who owns the boarding school. This issue has generated diverse framing from various media outlets. Online media Detik.com and JawaPos.com have highlighted this case with different writing styles and storytelling angles. This study aims to understand how the framing of the issue of sexual violence is portrayed in Detik.com and JawaPos.com in the July 2022 edition. Using Robert N. Entman's framing analysis technique as the research method and a qualitative interpretive approach to analyze news texts related to the issue of sexual violence against female students at the Shiddiqiyyah Jombang Islamic boarding school. Data were collected through document study archives published by Detik.com and JawaPos.com in the July 2022 period and analyzed through three news articles from Detik.com and three news articles from JawaPos.com. The results showed that the online media Detik.com viewed the issue of sexual violence as an immoral act by a teacher engaging in deviant behavior towards his student. Meanwhile, JawaPos.com viewed it as an immoral act committed by an adult man against his student, lacking conscience, and thus his actions need to be punished as justly as possible.
