Abstract

Environmental problems are issues of concern in the world that have an impact on the sustainability of life. Among the problems are the accumulation of rubbish, land pollution due to human activities, environmental pollution by chemicals, air pollution in urban areas, smoke due to forest fires, water and air pollution. An attitude of environmental responsibility can reduce environmental problems, because it can change human daily behavior. An attitude of environmental responsibility can be formed through the implementation of the Adiwiyata program. Muhammadiyah 1 Middle School Malang has received an award at the Malang city level as an adiwiyata school. SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Malang has implemented the 4 components of the Adiwiyata program listed in the Adiwiyata program guidelines. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive research type. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique uses the Miles and Huberman model which includes data collection, data reduction, data display and drawing conclusions. The results of this research can be concluded that the implementation of the Adiwiyata program at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Malang in building an attitude of Environmental Responsibility It has been going quite well, through the four components of the Adiwiyata program. The environmental responsibility attitude of students at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Malang is categorized as good with an index percentage of 77%. A good attitude cannot be separated from the role of the school in the habituation and exemplary process carried out through learning and routine activities. The obstacles faced are the lack of responsibility in carrying out duties, in implementing the adiwiyata program and still having difficulties in incorporating environmental insight into learning. The solution that can be taken by schools is to increase collaboration and cooperation of all school stakeholders in implementing the adiwiyata program and to provide training in preparing environmentally friendly learning.
