Abstract
Background: Response time of nurses in providing initial assistance to patients who come to the Emergency Room (IGD) is one of the important factors that can influence the level of patient satisfaction. Fast and appropriate treatment in emergency cases can prevent death or disability.
Objective: This study aimed to analyze the relationship between nurse response time
and patient satisfaction levels in the Emergency Department.
Method: This research was a correlational study with a cross-sectional approach. Using accidental sampling technique on 64 patients. Data analysis used the Chi-Square test. Data collection was carried out using questionnaires and nurse response time observation sheets in the emergency room at Wava Husada Kepanjen Hospital.
Results: It was found that (90.6%) nurse response time was fast, (9.4%) nurse response time was slow, (92.2%) patients with a satisfactory level of satisfaction, (7.8%) patients with a less satisfied level of satisfaction. Based on the Chi Square test, the results showed that there was a relationship between response time and the level of patient satisfaction in the emergency room at Wava Husada Kepanjen Hospital with a significant value of 0.000 (<0.05).
Conclusion: It can be concluded that there is a relationship between nurse response time and the level of patient satisfaction in the emergency room at Wava Husada Kepanjen Hospital.
