Abstract
Background: The use of computers in offices throughout the world has increased, including office workers at PT. Dian Cahaya Prima Jombang. Work-related activities that occur on the hands and last a long time can cause occupational disease CTS. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is a disorder that occurs due to compression of the median nerve in the carpal tunnel. There is an influence between computer technology and problems with CTS, such as pain, tingling, and numbness. Objective: To determine what risk factors affect the incidence of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) in office workers at PT Dian Cahaya Prima Jombang. Method: This research uses an analytical observational method with a cross-sectional approach. Researchers used questionnaires and Phalen tests as data collection tools by taking total sampling. Data analysis consisted of univariate and bivariate methods using the chi-square test. Result: The chi-square statistical test shows that there is a relationship between gender and the incidence of CTS with a p-value of 0.033 (p<0.05). There is a relationship between age and the incidence of CTS with a p-value of 0.046 (p<0.05). Nutritional status shows that there is no significant relationship with the incidence of CTS with a p-value of 0.680 (p>0.05). Length of work shows that there is a significant relationship with the incidence of CTS with a p-value of 0.001 (p<0.05). The working period shows that there is a significant relationship with the incidence of CTS with a p-value of 0.001 (p<0.05) in office workers at PT. Dian Cahaya Prima Jombang. Conclusion: Personal factors (gender, age) and work factors (length of work, length of service) influence the incidence of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) in office workers at PT. Dian Cahaya Prima Jombang.
