Abstract
Background: Adolescence is a transition period from childhood to adulthood, so it requires more information. Nutritional knowledge plays an important role in choosing good food for consumption. Meanwhile, nutritional status can reflect a person's nutritional fulfillment, such as poor, poor, more or obese. Lack of nutritional knowledge among adolescents will cause nutritional problems in adolescents, nutritional knowledge can provide a good understanding of adolescents when choosing food for adolescents to consume.
Objective: Knowing the relationship between knowledge about balanced nutrition and nutritional status in adolescents.
Method: This type of literature review is a narrative review by applying research questions (RQ). The RQ formulation is based on PICO (population, Intervetion, Comparison, and Outcomes).
Results and Discussion: A data search was conducted, and 10 journals were obtained that met the inclusion criteria. Based on the analyzed research journals, 6 journals found that there was no significant relationship between nutritional knowledge and nutritional status, while 4 journals stated that there was a significant relationship between the relationship between nutritional knowledge and nutritional status.
Conclusion: that there is no significant relationship and has a normal nutritional status, due to the lack of application of nutritional knowledge that a person has in daily life, lack of eating behavior in including incoming nutrient intake, and eating habits that are still irregular due to the influence of environmental factors and lack of information obtained.
