Abstract
Salma Abdul Aziz 2024, 201910030311059. The role of social workers in assisting the implementation of the Family Hope Program (PKH) in Malang City.
The Family Hope Program is a social protection program with the aim of alleviating poverty in Indonesia. Poverty is a social problem that has not been resolved until now. The number of poor people in the city of Malang based on BPS data for March 2021 reached 40.62 thousand people with a percentage of 4.62%, while based on BPS data for March 2022 it reached 38.56 thousand with a percentage of 4.37%. The reduction in poverty rates cannot be separated from the Family Hope Program (PKH). The Family Hope Program (PKH) is a social protection program in Indonesia in the form of conditional social assistance. Social Workers have a role as companions to the Family Hope Program (PKH) . This research aims to determine the role of Social Workers in the process of assisting the implementation of the Family Hope Program (PKH) and to find out the obstacles experienced by Social Workers as Facilitators of the Family Hope Program (PKH). This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type. Data collection techniques are interviews, observation and documentation. Meanwhile, the subjects of this research were taken using purposive techniques . The results of this research show (1) The role of Social Workers in assisting the implementation of the Family Hope Program (PKH) was found to include roles as enablers, intermediaries, empowerers, educators, public speakers, advocates, social planners and researchers. (2) The obstacles experienced by social workers as companions to the Family Hope Program (PKH), namely lack of cooperation with related agencies, obstacles in the Beneficiary Family (KPM) data system, and the difficulty of achieving the Beneficiary Family (KPM) graduation target.
