Abstract

Saudi Arabia is a petroleum-producing country in the Middle East and a highly petroleum-dependent country. Petroleum is the main source of revenue, so the government of Saudi Arabia established the Public Investment Fund in 1971 to support the development of the Saudi economy and encourage domestic investment. In 2016, the Government of Saudi Arabia launched Saudi Vision 2030, and further positioned the PIF to expand its portfolio abroad, such as making overseas investments, one of which is in a famous soccer club such as Newcastle United in 2021. This research aims to see how the interests behind the acquisition of Newcastle United by the Public Investment Fund. This research uses Donald E.
