Abstract

Fachrur Rozi Habib Yusuf Al Mahmud, 202010040311448, The Influence of Instagram @ummcampus Social Media Exposure During the Covid-19 Pandemic on the Decision to Choose Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (Survey Study: Communication Science Students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang Class of 2020)
The current technological development is advancing with the emergence of new media, such as social media, which has become one of the main needs for its users, one of which is Instagram. In 2020, Indonesia was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, which required prospective students to seek and find information on college admissions through the internet or social media. Because of this, the researcher took the title "The Influence of Instagram @ummcampus Social Media Exposure During the Covid-19 Pandemic on the Decision to Choose Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang."
The main theory used in this research is the Uses and Effects Theory for analysis. The research method uses a quantitative approach. The sampling technique uses Total Sampling and is analyzed using simple regression coefficient analysis and the F test.
The results of the study indicate that there is an influence of Instagram @ummcampus social media exposure during the Covid-19 pandemic on the decision to choose Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang, which is proven by the F test results. The F test results show an F value of 84.122 with a significance level of 0.000. Because the calculated F value is greater than the F table value (84.122 > 3.960) at a significance level of 0.000 or less than 0.05, it can be concluded that the variable of Instagram @ummcampus social media exposure during the Covid-19 pandemic has a significant influence on the decision-making variable of choosing Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang.
