Abstract

An Illocutionary act is the most important core in speech acts because it’s related to the speaker’s intention to the listener in communication. The aims of this research are (1) to find out the types of illocutionary acts that exist in Jung Kook’s album: Golden and (2) to describe the meaning of illocutionary acts in its album.
This research used a qualitative method; the data are from the song lyrics in its album. The theory that is researcher used in this research is from Yule. The data was collected by searching the song lyrics of its album, reading, and then taking notes. For the data analysis, the researcher identified the types and meanings of illocutionary acts that existed in the album, sorted the data based on the problems, placed the data into tables, and made a conclusion.
The findings of this research are first the types of illocutionary acts, there are 4 types of illocutionary acts found which are representative, directive, commisive, and expressive. Related to the second problem is the meaning of the illocutionary act that existed in Jung Kook’s album: Golden in representative including; stating, telling, predicting, describing, and agreeing. In directive, including; advising, urging, recommending, begging, asking, requesting, pleading, ordering, and proposing. Commisive includes: permitting and promising and the last expressive includes; like, dislike, sorrowful, and messy.
