Abstract
Indonesia is the country with the largest archipelago in the world. Indonesia's cultural diversity has advantages compared to other countries, but it can also give rise to potential tensions that can occur if the social problems that occur continue to be ignored. One of them is the gender gap. The gender gap that occurs in Indonesia does not only start with the presence of differences between women and men in the world of business, education or skills, but also comparisons in the distribution of roles, giving rise to discrimination. Therefore, the role of UN Women as an international organization is present to resolve problems related to women's issues, peace and security in Indonesia together with the European Union launching a programWeEmpowerAsia aims to build a strong partnership base to increase women's empowerment. This research aims to find out the role of UN Women in managing its duties as an international organization in implementing the goals of good women's empowerment. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with literature study collecting secondary data. Based on the research results, UN Women's role as an international organization can be said to be successful in its efforts to carry out its duties in fulfilling the roles of initiator, facilitator and determiner to fulfill the three goal indicators of women's empowerment in Indonesia through We Empower Asia in Indonesia.
