Abstract
Background: Post partum mothers experience transitional phases, one of which is physiological, namely breastfeeding. The problem that often occurs in post-partum mothers is that breast milk comes out little and does not flow smoothly, which is caused by the mother experiencing swollen, tight, hot and painful breasts. Based on the incidence rate, the rate of breast swelling throughout the world is around 60-75% in 2019, 10-20% in Indonesia or around 2.3 million breastfeeding mothers experience breast swelling in 2022, in East Java it is 1-3%. in metropolitan areas and 2-13% in rural areas. For this reason, this final scientific work aims to determine The Effect of Oxytocin Massage on the Lactation Process in Post Partum Mothers.
Method: This research method uses descriptive qualitative with a case study design on Mrs. I am 33 years old and post partum. Data collection takes the form of anamnesis, observation, documentation study and physical examination.
Results: : After providing oxytocin massage intervention for 3 consecutive days related to the client's problem of ineffective breastfeeding, the result was that the patient said that the milk came out more smoothly and the breasts were no longer sore with objective data that the flow of breast milk increased, adequate breast milk supply increased. , maternal breast emptiness after breastfeeding increases with the analysis of the problem resolved and the intervention maintained. Oxytocin massage also has benefits, namely physical (increases breast milk production, reduces swelling), psychological (relaxes). Social (family support).
Conclussion : After this research was carried out, the results also showed that there was an increase in breast milk production on the first and second days by around 5 cc and 25 cc on the third day.
