Abstract
The problems of people with disabilities are attached to the stigma or
stereotype that people with disabilities are always seen as people who are helpless,
unhealthy, and unable to carry out their daily activities. This condition results in
people with disabilities not getting proper protection, especially people with visual
disabilities. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type, data
collection techniques are carried out by interview observation, while data analysis is carried out using qualitative data analysis with interactive capital. The research
results show that it is a service institution that can help blind people with normative
behavior, have an attractive appearance, have a sense of sensitivity and social
awareness through various programs, such as one program, namely activity daily
living (ADL) which aims to increase independence, self-confidence, Apart from that,
this program also aims to increase creativity for the beneficiaries. When they are
returned to society, they can carry out their social functions well. There are several
supporting factors for beneficiaries such as self-motivation, independence, knowledge and skills, adequate facilities and there are factors inhibiting beneficiaries such as
laziness, lack of self-confidence and physical discomfort, an unsupportive
environment such as frequent conflicts between beneficiaries. as well as a lack of
officers, social workers and medical personnel to assist individual beneficiaries.
