Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of preserving Indonesian cultural identity amid globalization and the development of digital media. One of the media that represents Indonesian culture is the video Wonderland Indonesia 2: The Sacred Nusantara by Alffy Rev. This study aims to analyze the representation of Indonesian cultural identity as depicted through cultural symbols in the video.

The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with Qualitative Content Analysis. The research object consists of six scenes containing dominant cultural symbols. Data were collected through non-participant observation, documentation, and literature study, and then analyzed through identification, categorization, and interpretation of cultural symbols.

The findings show that Indonesian cultural identity is represented through five main categories, namely the historical heritage and civilization of the Nusantara, harmony between humans and nature, spirituality and philosophical values, cultural diversity, and traditions that are adaptive to modernity. These representations are depicted through symbols such as traditional clothing, historical buildings, Nusantara mythology, traditional music, endemic flora and fauna, and Indonesian natural landscapes.

This study concludes that audiovisual media does not only function as entertainment, but also as a medium of cultural communication that is capable of representing and strengthening the understanding of Indonesian cultural identity in the digital era.
