Abstract
Background : Hypertension is a condition in which blood pressure increases beyond normal limits, the complications experienced are heart failure, kidney failure, blindness, stroke, this has an impact on the lack of blood pressure. Self-management in hypertensive patients. Self-management Individuals' possessions are influenced by several factors, one of which is knowledge of self care management. This research aims to find out whether there is a relationship between self-management with knowledge of self care management in hypertensive patients.
Method : In this research quantitative methods with a correlation approach cross sectional which was carried out at the Polowijen Health Center, Malang City, was carried out in September-November 2023. Data was collected using the non probability sampling with recruitment techniques purposive sampling There were 110 respondents obtained. Data collection used the H-SCALE (Hypertension Self-Care Activities Level) and knowledge of self care management (The Knowledge Of Self-Care Management Of Hypertension). Data analysis using tests Spearman rank correlation.
Results : The results of this research show that the majority of respondents at the Polowijen Community Health Center have Knowledge of self care management which is sufficient as many as 62 respondents (56.4%) and have self-management enough as many as 80 respondents (72.7%). The research results were obtained-goodbye 0.029 and a correlation value of 0.208 means there is a significant relationship between knowledge of self care management with self-management with weak link strength.
Conclusion : This study has a weak relationship with the vulnerability number (0.20-0.399) because the majority of respondents are >54 years old, where they are entering old age & have a significant decline in physical function and memory.
