Abstract
Background : handover is one of the safest activities for nurses to deliver important information. Completeness of nursing documents is needed to support the patient's health for the actions taken by nurses. hand-over is divided into 2, hand-over carried out at the nurse station and hand-over carried out at the patient's bedside. The availability of hand-over at the bedside can improve the nurse-patient relationship, and the patient will feel served and involved in every nursing process. By involving patients in the nursing process, it can improve patient satisfaction. Patient satisfaction is a reflection of the quality of health care received. Quality of service is not only judged by the luxury of facilities, completeness of technology, and physical appearance but also the attitude and behavior of employees who must reflect professionalism and have high commitment. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between handover and patient satisfaction through the literature review method.
Method : The methodology used in this study was a literature study with 10 samples journals, Google Scholer (n: 1), Pubmed (n:3), PMC (n:2), Medscape (n:2), Wiley Online Library (n:2). :2). with the keyword "nursing handover and patient satisfaction" related to the topic of discussion which discusses the acceptance and satisfaction of patients. with the keyword "nursing handover and patient satisfaction" related to the topic of discussion which discusses the acceptance and satisfaction of patients. After obtaining journals that fulfill the criteria, an assessment of the quality of the journals is then carried out using the Joanna Briggs Institute. The last step is to analyze the journals obtained.
Result : The results of the 10 analyzed journals stated that there was a relationship between handover and receiving with patient satisfaction, but in the journal, it was explained that nurses had shortcomings such as lack of knowledge about the importance of handover on the bedside and lack of time to handover involving patients.
Conclusion : Patient satisfaction increases when patients are included in the handover process, but nurses have problems in knowing the importance of involving patients in the handover process. Nurses also have a lot of work at the nurse station and don't have much time to handover at the patient's bedside.
