NARRATIVE REVIEW: PERBANDINGAN OBAT-OBAT GOLONGAN HMG COA REDUKTASE INHIBITOR PADA PENYAKIT KARDIOVASKULAR

This study aims to compare HMG CoA Reductase Inhibitor class drugs in cardiovascular disease. The hypothesis of this study is: (1) there is a significant comparison between HMG CoA Reductase Inhibitor class drugs in cardiovascular disease, (2) there is no significant comparison between HMG CoA Reductase Inhibitor class drugs in cardiovascular disease. The articles that were the subject of this research were obtained from PubMed with predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria, resulting in 23 articles being obtained and then research was conducted focusing on comparing the percentage effectiveness of statins in lowering lipids such as LDL, HDL, TG and TC. The results of the study showed that hypothesis 1 was proven that there was a significant comparison between drugs of the HMG CoA Reductase Inhibitor class in cardiovascular disease, but because Rosuvastatin which has the highest effectiveness is also the most expensive, so the type of statin that is widely used is Atorvastatin which has effectiveness and standard price. The results of the study also showed that Pitavastatin is a type of statin that is often combined with Ezetimibe because Pitavastatin's metabolism does not intersect with Ezetimibe's mechanism of action. Meanwhile, Simvastatin can only be found in a few research journals.
