Abstract
Students' reading ability is seen as a determinant of success in carrying out their learning activities while at school. Literacy at school is going well, however, students in grade 3 are still lacking in literacy, experiencing many difficulties due to students' lack of ability to recognize letters and lack of focus in reading. The aim of this research is to find out the implementation of literacy activities at SDN 02 Girimoyo, then find out the obstacles faced by teachers in implementing literacy at SDN 02 Girimoyo.
The method used in this research is qualitative research and a descriptive approach. There are 4 stages of data analysis techniques used, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. Meanwhile, in data collection there are 3 techniques used, namely interviews, observation and documentation. This research was conducted at SDN 02 Girimoyo. The data source in this research is the Class 3 Teacher as interview information.
The results of this research are that literacy skills have been implemented at SDN 02 Girimoyo, have utilized the assets owned by each class in the form of student reading corner shelves equipped with books provided to support students' interest in reading in terms of literacy, and have carried out implementing activities. 15 minutes before learning starts, read first. There are several problems experienced, namely a lack of children's independence, a lack of enthusiasm for students to read.
