POTENSI KLP48 MENJADI AKTOR DIPLOMASI PUBLIK JEPANG DI MALAYSIA

This study is entitled The Potential of KLP48 to be a Japanese Public Diplomacy actor in Malaysia. This study discusses how Japanese popular culture can be utilized as a medium of public diplomacy through the presence of KLP48 as a Japanese idol group in Malaysia. This study uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach and a new public diplomacy concept to describe how KLP48 can be implemented as an actor of Japanese public diplomacy in Malaysia. This study uses secondary data sources from the document of previous research, the website, and photos or videos related to KLP48 and Japanese popular culture. This study shows how implementing KLP48 as an actor in Japanese public diplomacy in Malaysia uses Japanese popular culture. This study concludes that KLP48 can be implemented as an actor of Japanese public diplomacy in Malaysia. KLP48 promotes Japanese culture, creates nation-branding, and communicates directly with the Malaysian public.
