Abstract

Abstract

The aim of this research is to examine the direct influence of leadership style on employee performance, the influence of leadership style on employee work motivation, the influence of work motivation on employee performance and the influence of leadership style on employee performance through work motivation as an intervening variable. This type of research is explanatory research with a population of production employees at PT. Polowijo Gosari Gresik had 234 employees with a sample size of 70 respondents. Data collection uses a questionnaire, with data analysis methods using a range of scales and path analysis. The research results show that employee performance conditions fall into the criteria of low, high work motivation and high leadership style. Leadership style has a direct effect on employee performance. Leadership style influences employee work motivation. Work motivation influences employee performance. Work motivation is an intervening variable in the influence of leadership style on employee performance, meaning that an increase in employee work motivation increases the influence of leadership style on employee performance.
