Abstract
Background : Flood disasters often occur in Indonesia and have a significant impact
on the psychological condition of the survivors, especially causing anxiety. Disaster
resilience, which is the ability of individuals to recover and adapt after disasters, plays
an important role in reducing such anxiety. This study aims to examine the relationship
between disaster resilience and the level of anxiety in flood survivors.
Research Methods : The research design used a cross-sectional research design with 82
populations. The data were returned using the NMRQ questionnaire (Nicholson McBride
Resilience Questionnair) and the DASS21 questionnaire and were tested and analyzed
using an analytical test using the spearman rank correlation test.
Results : The results of this study showed that disaster resilience in bamjir disaster
survivors, the majority of respondents had an extraordinary level of resilience with an
extraordinary level of 52 respondents (63.4%). Meanwhile, the majority of respondents
had normal anxiety for flood survivors, as many as 49 respondents (59.8%). The results
of the spearman correlation test showed that there was a relationship between disaster
resilience and anxiety as evidenced by a significant value of 0.00 and a value (r) of
0.637 with moderate relationship strength.
Conclusion : Flood survivors who have resilience tend to experience lower anxiety.
This resilience is influenced by knowledge and the ability to adapt after a disaster. Without adequate knowledge, resilience is difficult to form and anxiety will be high.
Therefore, with resilience supported by good knowledge, flood survivors are better
able to cope with anxiety and recover better.
