Abstract
Background : The lack of physical activity is a global issue, with 27.5% of people inactive (WHO) and 33.5% in Indonesia (Riskesdas 2018), increasing the risk of hypertension, which has a prevalence of 34.1% in Indonesia. Ling Tien Kung exercises may improve blood circulation and metabolism, potentially lowering blood pressure. This study aims to examine the effect of Ling Tien Kung exercises on blood pressure reduction in hypertensive patients as a nursing intervention.
Methods : This study used a Pre-Experimental One Group Pre Test Post Test Design with Nonprobability Sampling and Purposive Sampling techniques, conducted from October 1 to November 14, 2024. A total of 32 respondents participated, and observations were made after each intervention session.
Results : The study found a positive effect of Ling Tien Kung physical activity on blood pressure reduction in hypertensive patients, with a significance value of p = 0.001 (p < α = 0.05).
Conclusion : This study concluded that the Ling Tien Kung physical activity program significantly influences the reduction of blood pressure in hypertensive patients in the Sasana Sehat Abadi area, Tulungrejo Village, Donomulyo District, Malang Regency. Before the exercise, most respondents had mild hypertension, but after the program, their blood pressure decreased to the normal range.
