Abstract

From the results of the needs analysis in class IV SDN 1 Karangsari, namely from the results of observations carried out on January 5 2022, there was a problem, namely that when learning activities took place on theme 5, sub-theme 1, the teacher used the lecture method and did not use learning media at that time. So that students appear to have reduced motivation when learning activities take place, in this case students are less active in responding to the teacher when they do not use learning media, students do not understand the learning material. One way to solve this problem is by creating media in the form of electronic flipbooks. This research aims to determine the development of flipbook electronic media oriented to critical thinking at SDN 1 Karangsari Banyuwangi.
This research uses the type of research and development Research and Development (R&D). Researchers of Flipbook Electronic media for thematic learning developed the Theme 5 My Heroes in Subtheme 1 The Struggle of Heroes in class IV elementary school. Researchers use the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) development model. In this model, it has been structured programmatically with a systematic sequence of activities in an effort to solve learning problems related to learning resources that are in accordance with the needs and characteristics of students.
From the results of this research, to determine students' understanding, the researcher gave evaluation questions that were done independently. This can be strengthened by the results of the student response questionnaire with a result of 95.2%, which means the media is very interesting. From the results of the questionnaire, it can be seen that participants are interested in the existence of this Flipbook media. Furthermore, the results of the teacher response questionnaire were 85%, meaning that the media was interesting and practical. From the results of material evaluation and validation, the media showed 88% material validation and 95% for the media. which means it is valid, the media is very feasible and can also be implemented.
