Abstract

Humans are highly dependent on digital technology, which has changed many aspects of human life and habits. In Indonesia, online media is a reference for people in finding news, one of which is news about the creative economy. Which in 2023 the creative economy sector absorbs a workforce of 24.9 million. This became the basis for the establishment of a creative economy-themed media called Mantraidea.com. In carrying out journalistic activities, of course, the role and involvement of the editor-in-chief is needed to keep the media running in accordance with journalistic ethics.
In the production process, the editor-in-chief uses the concept of editorial management in the mantraidea.com newsroom. The management function used is POAC (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, and Controlling). POAC theory is implemented in finding, processing, and broadcasting news through the mantraidea.com media portal. The editor-in-chief also implements the characteristics of online media according to Paul Bradshaw which are abbreviated in BASIC (Brevity, Adaptability, Scannability, Interactivity, and Community and Conversation). The mantraidea team conducted swot research methods, distributed questionnaires and competitor website analysis research, the results of which were used as references and support for the mantraidea.com online media portal.
In practice, the mantraidea team managed to write as many as 165 pieces of writing spread across the Jendela Karya, Kulinova, Digital, Pelipur, Toserba, Fashion, Infographics, and Tontonan sections. The mantraidea website has reached up to 19,182 impressions, Instagram social media as many as 7,639 audience interactions in the last three months.
During the production process, it can be concluded that the editor-in-chief uses the basic functions of POAC management in the mantraidea.com newsroom. In addition, flexibility is important during the production process, as some adjustments or modifications are made to deal with various situations that arise. The Editor-in-Chief also requires effective time management to ensure the editorial team's targets are optimally achieved. The success of this production process cannot be separated from the cooperative teamwork at Mantraidea.com. Each member supports and motivates each other.
