Abstract

Background : Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus is one of the fastest-growing diseases and has become a major health issue worldwide. There is little research focusing on the combination of diabetic foot exercises and warm water zack compresses related to diabetes.

Objective : To investigate the combination of diabetic foot exercises and warm water zack compresses to lower blood glucose levels and prevent complications such as peripheral neuropathy in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Method : The research method used in this final paper is a case study report. The author follows scientific methods according to nursing process principles, including assessment, data analysis, nursing interventions, implementation, and evaluation.
Result : After providing nursing care, the priority diagnosis obtained was unstable blood glucose levels, which received interventions in the form of diabetic foot exercises and warm compresses. After one week of intervention, blood sugar levels decreased from 201 mg/dl at assessment to 147 mg/dl.
Conclusion : Unstable blood glucose levels in diabetes mellitus patients are caused by non-compliance with medication, lack of physical activity, and obesity. To lower glucose levels, the recommended therapies included diabetic foot exercises that can enhance insulin sensitivity and improve blood circulation. Additionally, warm compress therapy is effective as it stimulates vasodilation of peripheral blood vessels, thereby improving circulation and reducing blood sugar levels.
