Abstract

State Elementary School Gesang 02, in Grade IV, implemented an independent curriculum involving four components: writing skills, reading, listening, and speaking. Specifically, the writing component became one of the issues in Grade IV. The particular problem in Grade IV lay in poetry writing lessons, as observed when students were asked to create poems by the teacher. This was because fourth-grade students still did not understand poetry materials, determine themes, choose rhyme schemes, and use the learning media provided by the teacher. There were only a few available learning media in Grade IV classrooms, so students relied mainly on books and the teacher. Based on the needs analysis in the fourth-grade class, especially in poetry writing learning, a solution was needed to reduce the issues. The solution to the problem was to develop engaging learning media for students. The solution to this problem was to develop PANKREAS (Papan Kreatif Sastra - Creative Literature Board) Media in poetry writing learning for Grade IV elementary school students.
Research and development were conducted using the ADDIE development model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). This study employed qualitative and quantitative descriptive data analysis techniques. The data sources were 17 students in Grade IV from State Elementary Gesang 02. The research was conducted on August 2, 2023, with 14 students present, and three students could not attend.
The research results indicate that the development of PANKREAS Media (Creative Literature Board) is feasible for use by students in Grade IV at State Elementary School Gesang 02. The scores obtained from the content expert are 83.3%, and the media validation score is 83.3%, categorizing it as feasible. Meanwhile, the responses obtained from students are 81.85, and from teachers are 94.2, both categorized as receiving very positive responses. This indicates that PANKREAS Media is feasible and appealing for students in Grade IV. PANKREAS learning media is recommended for use as a reference in the learning process to further enhance its development, both in terms of content and construction.
