Abstract
Based on the results of observations and interviews with class 3B teachers at SDN 02 Girimoyo Malang on October 21 2023, teaching and learning activities in class, especially in Indonesian language subjects regarding reading skills, are still very lacking, so appropriate media are needed for learning Indonesian. Students' lack of focus on learning so that students are absorbed in their activities is caused by a lack of learning media that is not available. Therefore, the Vocabulary Recognition Board media is media that is appropriate to the problems that exist in class 3B. Media is needed that is relevant to the conditions and needs that exist in class 3B so that the media that is to be developed is media that is interesting and concrete. The aim of this research is to develop Vocabullary Recognition Board learning media for 3rd grade elementary school Indonesian language learning that is valid and interesting. This research uses the ADDIE development model which consists of five stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. To analyze the data, this research applies qualitative data analysis techniques and quantitative data. As a data source, 25 students from class 3B of SDN 02 Girimoyo Malang for the 2024/2025 academic year have been selected. This research was carried out from October to November 2024, with data collection techniques that focused on the implementation of the use of the Vocabulary Recognition Board media and the effectiveness of its use through observation, interviews, questionnaires, evaluation tests and documentation. The development of the Vocabulary Recognition Board media obtained material validation results of 86% and media validation of 80%. The results of material validation and media validation have been categorized as very suitable for implementation. Meanwhile, the student response questionnaire obtained a score of 92% which was stated by the media as very interesting. This can be interpreted as the development of the Vocabulary Recognition Board learning media with material to interpret new vocabulary regarding interesting things in the surrounding environment and its function for class 3B of elementary schools, which can attract students' attention so that they are more active in participating in learning.
