Abstract
One thing that needs to be considered in the preparation of a good
textbook is the cognitive aspect. The cognitive aspect has six levels, namely,
knowledge, understanding, application, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation.
Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the suitability of textbooks according to
cognitive aspects. However, there is no research that analyzes the seventh-grade
JSIT Arabic textbooks according to cognitive aspects. The purpose of this study
was to determine the characteristics of the seventh-grade JSIT Arabic textbook at
SMPIT Insan Permata and to determine the suitability of the material contained in
the seventh-grade JSIT Arabic textbook at SMPIT Insan Permata according to
cognitive aspects. This research is qualitative research with the type of library
research. Data collection techniques using documentation and interviews. In data
analysis, data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion were
drawn. The results of the study show that the seventh grade JSIT Arabic textbooks
have characteristics, namely, the textbooks are arranged based on the educational
curriculum, focus on certain goals, present Arabic language lessons, are oriented
to student learning activities, and can direct teacher activities in the classroom.
Then the material content in the JSIT Arabic textbook class VII includes the
material content at the Lower Order Thinking Skills (LOTS) level.
