Abstract

Student academic support is support that occurs between people in supporting each
other in the academic field. The phenomenon of students experiencing problems in the process
of writing their thesis is a behavior that is often carried out among final semester students. This
shows that students are not involved in behavior, cognitive, and emotional when experiencing
difficulties in their interactions with academic tasks. The aim of this research is to determine
the relationship between student academic support and student engagement in final semester
students. Sampling in this study used a quota sampling technique with 250 final semester
students as respondents. This research uses the Student Academic Support Scale (SAS) and
Student Engagement Scale (SES). The data analysis process uses Pearson’s r correlation in
JASP. The results obtained show that there is a significant positive relationship between student
academic support and student engagement (r = 0.133, p = < 0.001).
