Abstract

This research is research that aims to produce learning media for picture word cards (flashcards) on the beginning reading abilities of grade 1 students at SD Muhammadiyah 08 Dau. This research began with the lack of teaching media used to train beginning reading, so a product in the form of picture word cards (Flash cards) could be developed as a learning medium.
This research is a type of research and development that uses the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) model. The first stage was carried out to determine existing needs in the field. The second stage, designing teaching materials starts from making the cover, arranging the material to selecting a suitable design for the teaching material. The third stage, the teaching materials that have been designed will be made into a product and then validated by material experts and teaching materials experts. The fourth stage, the implementation process in the field. The fifth stage, evaluation is carried out by distributing response questionnaires to class teachers and students.
The results of the research showed that the picture word card media obtained an average percentage score from media experts reaching a percentage of 90% with the criteria "very feasible", material experts achieved a percentage of 85% with the criteria "very feasible", the teacher response assessment obtained a percentage of 83% with very feasible criteria, with very feasible criteria, large scale trials got an overall percentage of 90% with very feasible criteria. This shows that the picture word card media that researchers have developed is suitable for use as a learning resource in the learning process.
