Abstract

Background: The cycling movement increases the body's resistance to mechanical loads on the body's limbs. The body's role in repetitive cycling conditions can cause musculoskeletal disorders, these disorders are problems that are interrelated with the muscles, ligaments and nervous system. The risks of cycling include pain, postural, balance and strength problems.
Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between cycling posture and forward head posture in the Tajinan Cycling Club (TCC) community, Malang Regency.
Methods: The type of research used is observational with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique uses a purposive sampling method. The sample size was 30 respondents and met the inclusion criteria. The data collection technique was carried out by measuring cycling posture using Kinovea and Forward Head Posture (FHP) with FHPaps. Data management was carried out using the Spearman correlation test using SPSS version 25.
Results: The Spearmen correlation test result is 0.463 and the value (p>0.05) shows that there is no relationship between cycling posture and forward head posture in the Tajinan Cycling Club (TCC) community, Malang Regency.
Conclusion: There is no relationship between cycling posture and forward head posture in the Tajinan Cycling Club (TCC) community, Malang Regency. This is because the position of the handlebars which is not too low contributes to reducing the risk of injury and a relaxed cycling posture will reduce tension on the neck.
